What is one of the most discussed and debated items for a wedding? If you answered food, you're probably right. Guests come to greet the bride and groom, but often one of the biggest water cooler moments after a wedding is what was served. Many weddings play it safe and offer their guests the usual, which include cheesecake, cookies, brownies, ice cream, and fondu.
I recommend standing out from the crowd. How do you? By serving funnel cakes at your wedding. A dish often only found at carnivals and fairs has found its way into the wedding scene. At a recent wedding I filmed the couple hired the Funnel Cake Kid (Instagram, Facebook) to cater their reception. They provided a variety of toppings from raspberry honey butter and powder sugar to regular honey butter to chocolate syrup. Is your mouth watering right now? I know mine is. So why should you serve funnel cakes at your wedding? The question really should be, “Why not?” It's a unique dessert item that you don't often find served at receptions and it will make your wedding stand out from the others.
What other interesting desserts or food items have you seen served at weddings?
